Christmas 3D Print Files for Kids Free Downloads

Christmas 3D Print Files for Kids Free Downloads

It is currently the beginning of November as I am writing this, and my 3D printers are humming away in the background. For my last day before Winter Break, I want my students to build something holiday themed that they can take home with them.

Here are the Christmas 3D print files for kids I am printing, in one solid color. These are files that I found for free on MakerWorld.

If you can’t open the files, I made them into STLs that are saved HERE in a Google Drive folder.

Some items are linked to my Amazon Affiliate. When you purchase through my link, no extra cost to you, and I may receive a small commission in return.

What filament colors am I using?

ByeHassle sent me three rolls of filament, and the colors they sent me helped inspire what I ended up printing for my students!

How do you organize the pieces once they are 3D printed?

I have a whole system when it comes to 3D printing in the classroom, and you can download my free 3D printing station here.

I printed out a class list of my students’ names, then grabbed a stack of paper bags and wrote one name/bag.

I prefer printing one design at a time since there are fewer issues that way, but you do you! Once the 3D print was complete, I added it to the student’s bags and checked their name off my list.

I printed all of the Christmas trees first, then the gingerbread houses, and finally the stars. All of the pieces went in the same bag. It didn’t really matter if they got mixed up since they were different colors.

I also printed a few extra sets so I had spare parts JUST in case!

For a fun added element, each kid got a packet of white air dry clay and a small paper plate so they could build a fun scene for their tree and house.

Here is the air-dry clay that I bought that was pre-portioned into small packs.

How do you assemble these Christmas 3D print files for kids?

These designs are really simple to put together. I showed kids my finished and built set of prints as examples, and then let them problem solve and figure it out!

The tree “leaves” are a little tight to fit on, but it helps them stay put, so kids may need help with that one.

The biggest mistake I saw with the ginerbread house is they flipped the piece with the chimney in the wrong direction which causes the roof not to sit correctly.

The star ornament doesn’t require extra building, but tying on a ribbon to help it hang up is a nice touch!

How are students decorating these Christmas 3D print files?

While the original 3D print files allow for multi-color printing, it also wastes filament and take longer to print. Since I am printing multiple class sets of these files, I am only printing these in one solid color.

The colors I am printing these Christmas 3D print files in are light enough where the kids can color them with paint markers. This adds a fun element of creativity!

This is a fun way to celebrate the holiday season while utilizing your classroom 3D printer!
